xBlocks

Websites built from blocks, and edited right on the page.

xBlocks is the website system we build and run sites on. Each site has its own pages, look and content, and its owner changes them by clicking on the page they want to change. If you need a site, we can build yours on it.

The demo builds you a private site to change however you like. It opens in a new tab and clears itself after a day.

Inside the editor

This is the demo you can try. It builds you a private site in a few seconds, then hands you the same editor a real site gets.

The demo’s build screen: a sample site called Kōwhai Ceramics with every build step ticked and a colour picked, then a choice: Show me around, or Set up my site.
Name it while it builds, then take the tour or set it up
The controls tour in edit mode: a note beside the eye button explains that it previews the page exactly as visitors see it, step 2 of 6.
The tour points at each control, like the eye that previews the page
The AI assistant on a phone: How can I help?, with suggestions like Add a Contact page with a heading and a paragraph.
Ask the assistant to do it

Amy Adams, artist

Amy paints the native birds of Aotearoa on abstract backgrounds, alongside larger mural and commercial work, and is one half of Adams & Co. Her site runs on xBlocks: her paintings, murals and public art, a gallery, exhibitions and a way to commission a piece. artful.fly.dev

The Public Art page: Rose Tinted Choices, a painted street cabinet, with its description and a link to the project.

The gallery on a phone: murals and public art in a two-column grid.

What a site on xBlocks has

  • Pages made of blocks

Heroes, text, images, carousels, quotes, buttons, links, maps and featured work, arranged however the page needs.

  • Edit on the page

Turn on edit mode and change the page you are looking at, then view it as a visitor before you leave.

  • Galleries and products

Work or products in categories, with search and filters, a wishlist and an enquiry form.

  • Posts brought in

Import posts from Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest into the gallery.

  • Your own look

Your fonts and colours, with light, dusk and dark themes.

  • Images looked after

Uploads are stored on Cloudinary, cropped in the editor, and kept in a media library.

  • An assistant that can do it for you

Ask the AI assistant in the admin to make a change. Every change it makes can be undone and redone.

  • One system, many sites

Each site’s content and look are its own, so one site’s changes never touch another.
