Lawn Roster
A shared mowing roster for a handful of people. It emails whoever is up that week, lets them bow out with one click, and asks everyone else to cover.
Private. We built it for our own household, so there’s nothing to sign up for.
How a week plays out
Nobody but the owner ever signs in. Everyone else only follows a link from their email, and each link works once.
- Wednesday
Whoever is up hears about it
An email: the lawns are yours, by Saturday.
- If not
One click to bow out
“I can’t do this week” asks everyone else to cover. The first to click “I’ll take it” has it, and both people are told.
- Saturday
Mowed
Whoever mowed clicks “mowed” in the email, or it’s ticked off in the roster.
The mower, looked after
It keeps the Kubota’s service schedule in engine hours, including greasing the deck before every mow, and emails when a service is due.
Costs nothing to run
The roster lives on Firebase’s free plan, and the emails come from a small server that catches up on anything it missed while the computer was asleep.
